Students master single digit addition and subtraction using multiple strategies along with telling time and handling money. Students begin discovery of multiple digit addition and subtraction as well. Prior to joining this course, students should be able to:

• Read and write numbers to 100
• Count to 100 forwards and backwards
• Add and subtract single digits using objects or fingers if needed

Students learn to add and subtract two and three digit numbers mentally as well as learn advanced techniques to check their results. Students are introduced to fractions and advanced skip counting to prepare them for multiplication. The focus on building strong mental math and problem solving skills.

Prior to joining this course, students should be able to:

• Add single digit numbers
• Subtract within 20
• Recognize place value of hundreds and tens

Students master multiplication tables and advanced subtraction techniques while gaining an understanding of division, remainders, estimation and rounding. Students also learn more advanced multiplication skills along with fraction addition and subtraction.

Prior to joining this course, students should be able to:

• Add and subtract 2 digit numbers accurately
• Count with coins and bills
• Recognize place value to 1000

Students master advanced techniques for two and three digit multiplication along with divisibility rules and long and “short” division. Students learn how to handle fractions, decimals, percents and ratios.

Prior to joining this course, students should be able to:

• Multiply single digits with reasonable speed and accuracy
• Divide within 100 without remainders

Students master powerful mental multiplication and division techniques with whole numbers, decimals and fractions. Students gain an understanding of factors, primes, squares, square roots and probability.

Prior to joining this course, students should be able to:

• Compute multi-digit multiplication
• Long divide with single digit divisors
• Add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators

Students will build and program their creations using LEGO SPIKE robotics kits. They tackle fun design challenges while learning about simple machines like levers and gears.

Students will learn use LEGO's coding language to control robots that navigate mazes, avoid obstacles, and so much more!

The team will compete in an annual, national LEGO robotics competitions .

Students master operations with integers, exponents, and order of operations. Students learn to solve complex single variable equations along with graphing equations using a variety of techniques. Students also solve systems of equations and are introduced to Algebra 2 concepts like parent functions and radicals.

Prior to joining this course, students should be able to:

• Fluently work with integers
• Solve simple one-step equations
• Work with exponents

Students dive deeper into advanced functions (polynomial, rational, radical, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric), complex numbers, systems of equations, conic sections, and are introduced to matrices, sequences & series.

Students must have completed Algebra and Geometry courses either at Math Plus Academy or at school prior to joining this class.

Introduces students to the game of chess in a fun, structured, and supportive environment. Students learn the rules, strategies, and thinking skills behind the game while practicing focus, patience, and sportsmanship. Through guided lessons and supervised play, beginners build confidence and develop strong foundations that prepare them for more advanced chess concepts.

The only prerequisites LEGO Robotics Lab are a love of creativity and learning!

Students will build and program using LEGO Briq and SPIKE robotics kits. The tackle fun design challenges while learning about simple machines like levers and gears. Students will gradually learn how to use LEGO's coding language to control robots that navigate mazes, avoid obstacles, and so much more!

Math Team students dive into mathematical challenges designed to test their perseverance, develop their critical thinking, and help them see the beauty of mathematics. They’ll work individually and in small groups to try and solve challenging math problems.

Our Math Team coach will act as a guide to help students develop problem-solving skills. As students tackle non-routine math problems, they’ll learn how and when to implement important problem-solving strategies like working backward, drawing diagrams, and making tables to search for patterns.

Students learn about geometric constructions and rigid transformations. Students are introduced to the terminology and logic of inductive and deductive proofs. Student apply proof skills to properties of lines, angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, and circles. Student are also introduced to the properties of 3D shapes and trigonometry.

Prior to joining this course, students should have completed an Algebra course.

Builds on foundational skills and helps students deepen their understanding of strategy, tactics, and planning. Players strengthen their game by analyzing positions, spotting tactical opportunities, and learning how to think multiple moves ahead. Through guided instruction, puzzles, and structured game play, students grow as confident, thoughtful competitors while continuing to enjoy the challenge of chess.

Students learn to read and write digits 0-9, develop an understanding of quantity (more / less), and master the basics of single-digit addition, subtraction, coins, clocks, shapes, and story problems.

Before joining this course, students should be able to:

• Count from 1 to 20
• Count objects up to 10
• Recognize the digits 0 to 9

Students gain a mastery of integers and integer operations. Students learn to solve challenging ratio and proportion problems. Students are introduced to variables and solving equations using multiple methods.

Prior to joining this course, students should be able to:

• Fluently multiply and divide whole numbers
• Add, subtract multiply and divide fractions and decimals
• Compute the area and perimeter for triangle and rectangles
